Lime plastering and stonework in the Forest of Dean
Work on Forest stone cottages and older homes, with materials that suit the building.
A lot of houses round here are built from Forest stone, and they don't always get on with modern materials. We take rooms back to the stone, keep the original features worth keeping, and plaster the walls in lime.
Lime lets solid stone walls breathe in a way gypsum plaster doesn't, which matters in an old house that was never built with a damp course.
Examples of what we do
- Taking rooms back to the stone
- Lime plaster, from scratch coat to finish
- Repairs to stone walls
- Keeping sash windows, fireplaces and cornices
- Rendering outside walls
- Stone buildings, from barns to cottages
These are just some examples. We do all general building and carpentry.
