Carpentry, building and roofing services in the Forest of Dean

We do all general building and carpentry for homes across the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. What's below is just some examples.

Carpentry

Carpentry is the first word in our name. If the job is in timber, inside the house or out, ring and tell us about it.

On older houses that often means working with what's already there: walls that are nowhere near straight, openings that need framing out before anything new can go in.

Extensions and alterations

We take on general building work for homeowners within about 30 miles of Bream, from extensions built up in block and stone to walls opened up inside.

Because we do the carpentry as well, one family firm can see a job through rather than handing it between trades.

Roofing

Repairs to slipped slates and leaking valleys, and whole roofs re-covered in slate or tile, with lead work and roof windows.

Stone cottages and older homes

A lot of houses round here are built from Forest stone, and they don't always get on with modern materials. We take rooms back to the stone, keep the original features worth keeping, and plaster the walls in lime.

Lime lets solid stone walls breathe in a way gypsum plaster doesn't, which matters in an old house that was never built with a damp course. See more photos
